What is SDX Bearing? (2) ✅ FAQ 1. What is the difference between SDX and dry-bearing SDU? SDU is a dry-bearing that can operate without lubrication and is resistant to most solvents and industrial fluids. On the other hand, SDX bearings are pre-lubricated by applying grease during assembly and are generally used in agricultural machinery, hydraulic machinery, and automobiles. 2. What is the plating material for the outer diameter? It is usually tin-plated with a thickness of about 0.002 mm, and copper plating is available upon request. 3. Is there any difference in performance depending on the POM colors? There is no difference in the performance and price from the standard product (yellow POM + tin plating). Other colors besides yellow POM can be made to order. SDX bearings with PEEK are recommended for high-temperature environments such as high-pressure gear pumps, water injection pumps, paint spraying, etc. 4. What material is recommended for the shaft? It can be used with all...

What are the solid lubricants for underwater bearings?

Underwater Oilless Bearings

Underwater bearings are designed for long-term immersion in water, like offshore/marine, hydro power generation and dam gate applications.
External lubrication is impractical, and prevention of water pollution and material color change due to corrosion are the most important factors, and solid lubricants containing Mos2, carbon, and general impregnation oils cannot be used for this purpose.
If grease is to be used, such grease has to be treated with waterproofing or must be hydrophobic, and the performance may deteriorate when in contact for a long time.

Solid Lubricant - Eco-Friendly and Underwater

For these reasons, PTFE or Teflon-based resin solid lubricants with corrosion and friction resistance are embedded in corrosion resistant bronze bearings for underwater use. The underwater bearings are designed to form a water lubricating film differentiated from the general dry friction.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has an excellent chemical resistance and a low coefficient of friction (0.04 to 0.08) and is thermally stable even at high temperatures (-260°C to +260°C).
SGO produces underwater bearings custom-made for any particular applications. Please send your inquiry at info@sgoilless.co.kr or visit the website www.sgoilless.co.kr if you have any questions.
